Food Stamps Cuts in Florida

You may have read that the pandemic-error food stamp benefits were cut in 32 states this month. Florida cut benefits months ago. One of our volunteers assisted a woman currently receiving $17 monthly to reapply for her benefits. As this article indicates, some of the hardest-hit households are seniors.

BEAM Food Assistance programs include our Client Choice Pantry, our five mobile pantry deliveries, and our eleven partners who source their food at our Food Bank for use in their hunger relief efforts. Last year, BEAM distributed more than 1.13 million pounds of food – much of which would otherwise end up in a landfill.
