Volunteer with the BEAM team!

BEAM is blessed with 90+ hard-working weekly volunteers as well as hundreds more who help with outreach events, fund raisers, food drives, and more. Join the BEAM TEAM and help families in need at the Beaches!

BEAM volunteers sort, shelve, pick, pack and bag food for about 800 clients each month. In addition, volunteers help our families apply for food stamps and Medicaid, meet with families to determine eligibility for financial assistance, and much more! We always have openings!

VOLUNTEER JOBS AVAILABLE

  • Front Desk: Answer phones and greet and assist clients at window
  • General office work: Filing, copying, etc.
  • Data entry / record keeping
  • Interview clients for financial assistance
  • Food pantry: Fill food orders, replenish shelves as needed with food and/or personal care items.
  • Assist clients with Food Stamp / Medicaid applications
  • Letter Writers: Thank you letters
  • REAL$ense Prosperity Campaign: Free tax prep for qualified clients (requires special IRS training)

SPECIAL PROJECTS including but not limited to:

  • Back to School with BEAM, August—our largest and most comprehensive outreach effort
  • Holiday Food baskets for families at Thanksgiving
  • Holiday Party for Beaches children in December
  • Christmas toys for families with children 0-15
  • Organizational help for fund raisers
